At that age, the enemy is pneumonia. They will have to be watched very closely.

The latest report is that George HW and Barbara are both feeling better and have improved. GHW is reportedly stable and alert. Barbara said she feels "1,000 percent better."

No date has been set for his release from the hospital.

They are. I hope they do well so they can have even more years together and with their family.

I'm sure that giving them IV fluids and good meds to help them rest goes a long way towards helping them feel better.

I was worried that the Queen and Prince Philip were headed that way over the holidays, as they were both sick with colds as well.

At that age, a cold can really takes its toll.

President Bush stated this morning...."your prayers have helped". It sounds like he is his perky, sharp self. It must give him a good feeling that he is universally loved no matter what a person's political affiliation may be. He and Barbara radiate a goodness about them.

I agree @VaBelle35 It's amazing how much of a difference just getting on IV fluids makes. I'm glad Barbara finally went to the hospital, she hadn't been feeling well for a couple of weeks.
