It has risen here. I didn't pay attention because we were watching 12 deer in our backyard! I'll go take a look now.
January's full moon, the "Wolf Moon," i named for the wolves who howl at this time of year. They are hungry and it is the start of their mating season. Howling is a way to pull the pack together.
I just looked. It's drizzly and foggy here; can't see the moon. ![]()
I love to follow the different moons and learn about how they got their names.
If you can see it enjoy! ![]()

There are quite a number of dogs in my neighborhood who are wanna-be wolves. They've sure been howling with some of the weather changes. I enjoy listening to them.
I've listened to some CD's with wolf calls, as well. They take me to a haunting, Gothic like scene. Eerie, but beautiful.

The moon was really spectacular last night in the northeast. We had lots of clouds here and drizzle all day and wow, that moon showing through the clouds was spooky but at the same time beautiful.

Who would know there's even a moon in the sky?????
We've had nothing but rain Rain and MORE RAIN for at least a week now. AND MORE TO COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been nothing but rain and grey clouds for weeks here. I'm growing webs between my toes, turning into a duck I think.
So, Wolf Moon - we'll try to check it out tonight.

Too cloudy!
Seems that whenever there's a cool astronomical event, it's too cloudy.
I'm looking forward to viewing future events as my DD gave me a telescope for Christmas.
