I love the frogs for young children. If you want to change you might think of 2or 3 themes and let the children vote on a choice. It would be a teaching tool for this election year. Have a list of age appropriate things that they could make to "enhance" the project. You would cover several different class subjects all at once. It might younger students adjust to the school routine and learn to work as a team. Please let us know what you decide. I would love to hear about it. As a grandmother and new great grandmother I love to play games and do crafts with the boys. (no girls in the family,, just moms).

We've been out of school for awhile now. This helps me get my brain focused back on school. There's always so much to do before the first day. I always try to make my classroom very happy and colorful. For some of my kids, school is their only happy place. ![]()

No get togethers with other teacers from your school to talk about the upcoming school year?
No meetings at the end of the previous school year to shate ideas in the teacher's lounge?

Revamp the frog theme by starting the year with polywogs and as the year progresses go through the stages of polywog to frog development. As the end of the year approaches the little polywogs will have grown into frogs ready to face new challenges.

How about Owls....or Penguins....for a different theme...

How about letting the children decide every few months?

I think you should change the theme every year. The kids like seeing something brand new when returning from the summer break.

Because my students were older I used curriculum ideas at the beginning of the year, but I also decorated my door w/friendly greetings from different countries/cultures and pinpointed them on a world map.
I would also have my BB focus on regions and American History periods since I also taught AH along w/WH.
Teachers have to have set meeting times permitted by admin. b/c we are all teaching usually at the same time or watching students during lunch/recess.
