Ford...my hands too have ropy veins and sometimes look very dark. It is the ra according to my rheumatologist. My dgds are all under 10 and know that sometimes I hurt and can't do what I would like with them. My sweet sydnie will rub my hands for me. I wish you could try something to give you some pain relief,.. But I know how you feel about those drugs. Have you ever tried a pain management clinic. ((((Hugs))))??

Your hands probably look the way they do because they worked so hard. Take for instance, the hands of the person who works in the field, or the hands of a person who fixes a car, or the hands of a person who works with animals.

Their hands are dirty, cracked, greasy, oily, muddy, soiled, grungy, and weathered......but that's because they worked so hard (this isn't to put down people who've worked hard and have hands that are clean, trimmed and nice. You've worked hard, too).

I'm sure your hands are still nice, just in a different way now. So don't cover them up. As for your daughter and granddaughters.....that one's up to you handle. Sorry that I don't have any advice on that one.

As we age our bodies change and it isn't fair but we know that our hands or feet or whatever are no longer beautiful.Why do people feel the need to let us know this ..
