Sometimes the biggest blessing of the day is that which didn't happen.

Lord, thank You for my ordinary day, a day in which my loved ones

have remained safe and healthy.

Scripture for the day:

"Jesus straightened up and said to the woman caught in adultery, 'Woman,

where are they? Has no one condemned you?' She said, 'No one, sir.' And

Jesus said, 'Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not

sin again.'" ~John 8:10-11

Meditation for the day:

I can start a new life each day. I can put away the old mistakes and start

anew each day. God always offers me a fresh start. I need not be burdened

or anxious. If God's forgiveness were only for the righteous and those who

had not sinned, where would be its need? I believe that God forgives us all

our sins. We can honestly try to live today the way God wants us to live.

God forgives us much and we can be very grateful.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that my life may not be spoiled by worry and fear and selfishness. I

pray that I may have a glad, thankful and humble heart.

Hello my friends! Just an ordinary day today - restful, and just housework etc. Lori called to have me put her friend, Jenny's father-in-law on the prayer line - he had a bad heart attack today and will have by pass surgery tomorrow. We were just with Jenny at the funeral the other day, had a nice visit with her. I'm going to throw away my pain pills and try to tolerate the pain without, I don't want to keep taking them. If need be, I'll just take some Tylenol, to get by. When I looked at the side effect that are on those papers - it's scary. Today still has been a blessing - in spite of pain, the blessing of an ordinary day - the blessing of my husband being home and organizing himself for his new job, speaking to people etc. The pain I can offer up. and I do. None is wasted then. Jesus has a whole lot more pain! Praying for you all and thanks for your prayers for us.

I Am There

You cannot see Me,

yet I am the Light you see by.

You cannot hear Me,

yet I speak through your voice.

You cannot feel Me,

yet I am the power at work in your hands.

I am at work

though you do not understand My ways.

I am at work

though you do not recognize My works.

I am not strange visions,

I am not mysteries...

only in absolute stillness beyond self

can you know Me as I am

and then but as a feeling and a faith.

Yet, I am there. Yet I hear.

Yet I answer.

When you need Me, I am there.

Even if you deny Me, I am there.

Even when you feel most alone, I am there.

Even in your fears, I am there.

Even in your pain, I am there.

I am there when you pray

and when you do not pray.

I am in you

you are in Me.

I am the law

on which the movement of the stars

and the growth of living cells are founded.

I am the love

that is law's fulfilling.

I am assurance.

I am peace.

I am openness.

I am the law

that you live by.

I am the love

that you cling to.

I am your assurance.

I am your peace.

I am one with you.

Beloved , I am there.

Busyness in Life

"Come apart and rest a while." -- Jesus (Mark 6:31)

According to tradition, the apostle John had a hobby raising pigeons. On one occasion a fellow church leader who was returning from a hunting trip stopped by John's place and found him playing with one of his birds and gently corrected him for wasting his time.

John, noticing his friend's hunting bow, said that the string was loose whereupon the man replied, "Yes, I always loosen the string of my bow when it's not in use. If it stayed tight, it would lose its resilience and fail me in the hunt."

"And I am now relaxing the bow of my mind," said John, "so that I may be better able to shoot the arrows of divine truth."

Work is important. We need to eat and we need to take care of our family, but over-busyness can be a curse. Without sufficient rest and relaxation we will eventually lose our health and not be able to work efficiently. And without taking time to nurture and be nurtured in loving relationships, life becomes empty and meaningless.

We need to follow the advice of Jesus when he said to his disciples, "Come apart and rest a while." Or as somebody else put it, "Come apart and rest a while before you come apart."

I Am The New Year

I am the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.

I am your next chance at the art of living.

I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned

about life during the last twelve months.

All that you sought and didn't find is hidden in me,

waiting for you to search it out with more determination.

All the good that you tried for and didn't achieve is mine

to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.

All that you dreamed but didn't dare to do,

all that you hoped but did not will,

all the faith that you claimed but did not have -

these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by

the touch of a strong purpose.

I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance

to Him who said, "Behold, I make all things new."

I am the new year.

A Guiding Light for the Year Ahead

As you go through the days of the year ahead,

busy with all the responsibilities the world has placed upon you,

remember to keep the truly special things in mind.

Keep things in perspective: Work, play, learning, living and especially our faith in Our Lord.

Have happiness as a part of your priorities!

Be creative and aware and wonderfully alive in His Truth

and always remember where to find your smile.

New journeys await you in the coming year.

Decisions lie ahead, wondering what you will do, where you will go, how you will choose when the choices are yours.

But remember, God is with you always. Work for the ability to choose wisely, to prosper, to succeed.

Let the roads that you travel take you to beautiful places, and have the faith it takes to achieve and aspire.

In this year, I pray that our hopes for our tomorrows take us to the summit of our goals,

and our joys bring us peace, love and happiness. Amen.

Prayer for the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus

Lord Jesus, we humbly pray You to give us all a great reverence and respect for Your most holy name. Forgive us for ever having used the name of Jesus in vain, or without due respect.

Help us remember how reverently and lovingly Your Mother Mary used the name of Jesus, and how humbly Saint Joseph called You and spoke to You by name.

Your name, dear Jesus, is above every other name in heaven or on earth, because You are the Jesus, the Savior of all men. You have saved us, and You have told us to ask God anything in Your name, and it would be granted.

We ask You, humbly and confidently, to bless us and our work, and give us the rich treasures of Your divine grace, without which we cannot even so much as pronounce the name of Jesus. Amen.

Mother Teresa Said...

You must try to bring the presence of God to your families. I think that just being together and loving one another brings peace and joy and strengthens the bond between family members in the home. That is the way to overcome all the evil that is in the world.
