Only the people personally involved know the true story. This is speculation.

A number of things could have happened.

I personally wouldn't fault people not knowing the facts...and it's their personal business not mine.

Frankly, this sounds made-up.

@SamBrown ,

I think it very well may be. I worked for a School District for many years at the Elementary level and teachers and staff are absolutely not permitted to give information out to anyone about a students personal living situation etc.

I can't imagine a teacher or staff member doing this and putting their job in jeopardy.

I imagine this was held during the day. Not everyone can easily take time off of work.

My guess would be graduating from elementary school and going into middle school or jr. high.  My GGD, age 10, graduated from 5th grade and they had a ceremony and recognition awards.  Parents attended to cheer them on.

Heartbreakingly sad.

Anyone fostering human or fur children are blessed to do so. They, like all parents have a responsibility to be available, to care, to cherish. How anyone could let that child be alone on such a special day is devoid of kindness.

I hope one of the other families asked her to join them. If not, I'm sure the teacher took excellent care of her. Teachers are angels after all...

@RollTide2008 it could’ve been elementary school graduation. The students are about 10 years old.

@DREAMON  My friend was there and knows the story.  It is not speculation if you read my post.  She was the one who alerted the teacher about the little girl and was told of the girl's circumstance by the teacher.  The teacher handled it wonderfully.

@SamBrown  Hardly.  Why would I make this up?!
