Well for regulation time that is the way it works. They have changed how it works in overtime. A team cannot just score a field goal. They have to score a touchdown OR the other team has to have had the opportunity to have possession of the ball.

Not NFL but ask University of Alabama's Coach Nick Saban about missed field goals. Smiley Happy

i LOVE NFL football! i bleed black and gold for my boys - that is all! my guys tell me all the time it is scary the person i become when my team is playing! i had to lay down after last nights game! the only time i am interested in another team is when they are on the field with us though. otherwise i have no use for them until then but the guys will watch a variety of teams that they like.

I love Football. High School, College and the NFL.

I love fantasy football (which I WON this year 13-3){#emotions_dlg.thumbup} The guys I play with are floored. Ha! I study it, research players, who they are playing, the playing conditions and past games for patterns. Ha! Obsessed? Maybe.

My favorite is College Football. The rivalries are great. Ohio State-Michigan, Michigan State-Michigan, Alabama-Auburn, Notre Dame-USC, and the list goes on and on. The Bowl games this year have been phenomenal. We've watched all of them. Some of them a few times, like the Rose Bowl!!

Now that the season is beginning to wind down, we focus a lot on College Basketball, even though we've been watching it all along, we try to catch more games. My pick to win it all is Michigan State Spartans. Fabulous team!

I LOVE football and can't get enough of it. DH and I go into a funk after the Super Bowl because the off-season seems so long. My team, the Giants, didn't do well this year (understatement) so we want Denver to go all the way. Love Peyton Manning.

I have absolutely no interest in football, basketball, baseball or auto racing, but I understand those who do. I LOVE hockey. It's all a matter of individual preference.

My understanding of overtime rules is the team that possesses the ball first must score a touchdown on its initial possession to win. If that doesn't happen, the team to score first, either by touchdown, field goal, or safety, wins.
