I know Im probably in the minority. BUT I don't see the thrill of football. My DH rarely watches although he is a Denver fan we are on the east coast so he doesn't get to see them play much. thus he doesn't watch much, (thankfully) OR watch any other teams. He DOES watch the Superbowl.
So tonight the Eagles played the Saints. My DH decides to watch because nothing was on tv and my son is an Eagles fan since hes a toddler (approximately 30 years). Anyway, I watched tonight for the first time in 20 years..lol.
So the Eagles are winning, then at the end with like 3 seconds to go, the Saints who are losing get to kick so they win. IMO they should have to make a touch down. How hard is it to kick a ball, no kidding they are going to win.
I will never see the thrill. They stand around for 90% of the game while the clock ticks and get paid millions of dollars to make a few plays in hours, and they have stupid rules. I think its simply a big gimmick and a money making machine.
I said to my husband, if you want to watch real talent watch the Olympics! lol. (the only sports I watch). Oh I lie, I watch the Superbowl at HALFTIME to see the MUSIC SHOW!
Well Im thankful I don't have to sit through these games all the time like some women whose husbands live for football.

I'm assuming you mean a field goal. If so, that's a valid way of scoring. The Saints would have needed to drive down the field close enough to attempt a field goal, usually at least around the opposing team's 35 yard line. Any further than that and it's difficult to make the goal.
As for how hard it is to kick a ball, tell that to the many teams who've lost because they've missed the field goal. The snap can be bad, the defense may block the kick, the holder doesn't line up the ball properly, the kicker just snubs the kick. It's not an automatic score.
Naturally, you're more than entitled to not like football. Not everyone must like every sport. There are several sports in which I have no interest. However, I chose not to denigrate them as I'm aware others like them. To each her own.

Shorty2U, I'm with ya on this! I used to be a huge football fan. But over the years I've lost respect for many of the players. They seem like a bunch of overpaid cry-babies who misbehave, use drugs, act like they're all that and above the rest of us. They make tons of money and 10 years later many are broke financially and broken down physically.
Lately I've seen on the news that some want to sue the NFL because they have brain damage. I think damage to their bodies was an obvious consequence of their sport. Unless someone forced each of them to play, they made that choice on their own.

Thank you for taking the time to explain. Yes I know why they got to kick. I just think its dumb because they are so close so it is doubtful they will miss and so they just played around till seconds are left then they got close to kick. lol. Well I just don't care for how it is run. (The rules the game in general). But you are right to each their own.

I live for football (not really, but close to it). I love other sports as well, but nothing close to the NFL. Couldn't be married to a man who didn't love it also.
Thinking about it, I've always dated "jocks" - and married one. You'd be surprised. Many athletes are outstanding men of high morals. The good guys just don't get all the press attention.
Hey, I don't like clothes shopping, owning a zillion shoes, getting diamonds or wearing dresses (don't even own one except my wedding gown) or some of the stereotypical things women are supposed to like.
