Tyson Chicken Nuggets Nationwide Recall: Possible Plastic in the Nuggets The nuggets were shipped to stores across the country, the USDA said.
Tyson has issued a recall for some of its frozen chicken nuggets after discovering pieces of plastic may have gotten inside some of the nuggets, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The plastic pieces reported in the chicken nuggets were about 21 mm in length and 6.5 mm in diameter, a USDA release states. The plastic may have come from a "round, hard plastic rod" used in the manufacturing process, the USDA said.
The plastic contamination affects these two products:
The 20-pound bags were sent only to locations in Pennsylvania for "institutional use," while the 5-pound bags were shipped to major retailers across the country, according to the USDA.
