Re: First College Scandal Parent to Grant Interview

Thy are just trying to repair their reputation, a little bit.  Those ridiculous excuses are not meant for the general public; they are meant for their friend, neighbors, co-workers.  I always roll my eyes at "no one was hurt".  Where does that come from?  Colleges and universities do not admit unlimited students.  They accept a limited number of applicants and when they used their money to get their dumb axx kids into a school they couldn't get in on their own merit....some kid who worked hard and followed the rules, did not get it.  That kid was hurt!

You're right.  He'll never get it because all his like he has lived in world in which money buys anything and the rules don't apply to wealthy people.

This is why I think that the test cheating crime may have been worse than the athletic scams....because more potential student applicants could have been hurt.

A cheater on the ACT/SAT could have applied to multiple schools with those inflated scores and been accepted.

Generally, the fake athletes were focused on just one school and one team, like Georgetown tennis or USC rowing.....fewer potential victims.

Just my view of things.

The whine is strong with this one. Loads of parents in jail currently.

When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.

It's called accountability!! People like him feel entitled & don't believe that the rich should be accountable for their wrongdoing. He feels his kid deserves more than a kid who doesn't come from wealth!! How pathetic.
