I live in Reno and it is so smokey where I am it looks like fog.  No fires in Reno this smoke is coming from other fires in Calif.  One is outside of Carson City, I believe Gardnerville.

Wow. It's definitely a crazy year. Stay safe and keep the windows closed.

We had a hazy night/sunset a couple of nights ago and they said it was from the California fires.  I'm on the east coast.  This has happened before.

One time there was fires in Canada and you could literally smell the smoke and we were at the beach in Delaware.

Wild fires are a form of pollution.  I always pay attention to the air quality if I'm walking or riding my bike.  The air may seem clean, but maybe it's not.....I try not to subject myself to unhealthy air.

@sunshine 919  We live in Sparks and we also thought it looked like fog. It's really bad and I feel for people that have breathing problems.

We're also getting terrific smoke from California fires in the Albuquerque area, some days more than others.  One day this past week I could only barely make out the outline of the 10,300 ft mountain across the valley.

I'm in the midwest and we have hazy skies and air from the fires. It's really messing with my sinuses.

Here in Colorado we have 'air quality warnings' ....it's been that bad. Seems this is happening way too much lately. More fires each year.

Sadly, this happens every year here. Not going to say anything more or I'll get poofed!

It is amazing how far the smoke travels.  A few days ago we had haze that they said was from the fires in Siberia.  I am in Washington State.
