Has the Gamers Forum been eliminated?

I've been seeing gamer threads showing up here.

Not that I'm interested, for the most part, but I have wondered why they started hiding the games forum since this last board change several years ago.

Why should it need to be hidden, unless you ask to be 'let in'?

@chickenbutt    I think it was popular demand.  It started to dominate the boards and really didn't relate to anything else on them.

Thanks for the info.  I guess I was mistaken in that I thought the games forum was just a totally separate sub-forum comprised of just the game threads.

I don't see why they can't do that.  Oh, I keep forgetting that this software is not exactly current.

At the time, this thread was called Viewpoints, I believe, and the gamer threads took over crowding out other topics so the Gamer Forum was established.

I have no idea why it's hidden now.

I assume that the game forum is hidden to prevent threadjacking w/non-gaming postings.

It is true that some years ago this forum was flooded with games.  Before that the flooding was from craft threads-mostly about scrapbooking when the Q used to have shows on that topic.

I'm not sure what really makes a "game", though.

From my memory the games were more about naming things by letters of the alphabet, and such.

Or the game might be some trivia.

Threads asking about your favorite movie, for example, isn't a game, to me; although that should be under TV/Movies forum.

Asking posters about a favorite thing isn't a game so some of the threads here are ok.

I also have no idea why a poster needs to be let into the Games Forum by a mod, though.
