Last week, there was a traffic stop on the interstate close to where I live, and the 3 men acted nervous. The state trooper asked if he could search the vehicle, they acquisced, and 15 lbs of Fentanyl was found in a tire well. Wrapped in 6 black duct taped packages. A field test tested possitive for Fentanyl.

I have a dumb question, how the heck would you get 15 lbs of Fentanyl? Are they breaking into pharmacies? (no reports of pharmacies here being robbed) Or have people figured out how to make it? How would someone even get that?

It says its over 6 million dollars worth.

The story is on "River Valley Leader" I don't have good luck when attempting to post links, despite some of you nice folks trying to help me with it.

I saw a news report recently on 60 Minutes or a similar show about Fentanyl and how easy it was to order from overseas online.  They found many websites and started conversations with the sellers but didn't go through with buying it.  Six million dollars worth is a lot!!!

@happycat, maybe up through Mexico or they even buy the stuff on the Internet and have it delivered to mailboxes at abandoned homes and pick up the stuff there.

Anyone can get their hands on anything if you know the right connections and you have $$$$.  Look what's going on in the world around you.

I thought the postal service inspected packages. Guess not all the time.

@happycat, they do, but these people are very clever with getting their drugs in. Customs lets things get in too.

On the Today Show, John Stossel did a segment with Law Enforcement to show how easy it is to get...They e-mailed a Chinese company and got an immediate response back that the company sold a fentanyl "analog"- they won't say it's the real deal....

....and of course, there is the Dark Web....the more I learn about that, the scarier the world becomes....

@happycat Couldn't find your article but found a lot of articles where authorities  seized huge quantities of this drug.

@marlielou, this does seem to happen a lot, I just don't understand how these people are getting this drug. I'm sure its like the others on here said previously tho, I still think its crazy, but I live in a sheltered world, apparently.
