Ms. Huffman is taking the good advice of her high priced lawyer. On the other hand, Lori and hubby act no older than their teens. I hope they throw the book at them (Lori & hubs) to teach them a lesson. There's a reason we have a legal system, it's not to let rich celebrities make a joke of it.

Also in the videos of Lori's daughter, she says she doesn't like school and just wanted to do fun things.  It sounds to me, like mother, like daughter.  I really liked Lori before this but with her laughing and bouncing around and giving autographs outside the court is like she's thinking this is a party.

@NicksmomESQ  Her daughter knew nothing about the scam?  That doesn't pass my smell test.  Her husband is nowhere to be seen?  That also doesn't pass my smell test.  How could her husband be let off the hook?  How could ne not know?  Where was he living at the time?

From reports I read, there was all kinds of stuff involved in the scams (pictures, letters of recommendation, etc.)  How could any of the students not have known that something was going on?  You're going to whatever university on a "Crew Team" recruitment.  But Mom & Dad, I don't know what crew is.  I don't have the foggiest idea why none of the students was indicted.

You're confusing the two situations, which are different from each other.

At least she admitted guilt...what else can she do now to prove she is sorry.I guess people hope that she does time but really I think losing work, friends and most likely respect will be difficult to overcome.I am sure her life will be in pieces for a long time and she will have to adjust from glam shots to mug shots.

Felicity didn't have a problem stepping on those hard working students & their parents carrying her money bags so I don't believe a word in that statement that was written for her...she's sorry, no...her husband & daughter didn't know, no...carry it with her for the rest of her life, oh please & no.

Re: Felicity Huffman pleads guilty

All of them (parents) basically said, "My children are so dumb, they couldn't get into college on their own, so I'll buy their way in." The parents considered it just another perk of being the [brat], I mean, child of a big Hollywood star. It doesn't matter that the kids are "nobodies." Remember, none of us are "anybody" to them.

I like the way you think, @dex. With some exceptions, I don't dismiss people as unworthy of possible redemption and do hope for them a life going forward after whatever punishment is doled out.

Isn't that what we're all about?

@suzyQ3 @I do believe in redemption but it needs a little time to be earned...depending on the situation.I think I feel the same as you?

She won't lose a thing.  Her life will continue as it is, but she will have to deal with what she did, as will her family.  She hurt them and they will deal with the fallout.  She made bad choices and should pay for that.  How?  Maybe pay for students that shoud have been there instead.  Maybe teach herself and her children to work hard and earn their way in life.

We all want better for our children, but not at the cost of others.  She was being a mother, but there is a line that shouldn't be crossed, and she crossed it.  Maybe she didn't know it, but she does now.

I just finished a minute ago reading the article on that and I so cringed on her behalf when she talked about betraying her daughter.  I had not thought of that way at all during this whole mess.  I cannot imagine living with that shame forever.

@beckyb1012   You are certainly "excused" since I think most of the daughters were complicit so one wouldn't think of betrayal.

@Preds I agree with your post as usual.I wish she would offer to help a deserving student achieve their dream...that would be a nice start to righting a wrong.
