Chris D'Elia who is a stand up comic who does shows all over the USA and is also on the tv show Undateable which has been renewed for 2015.

Also Jimmy Fallon is fabulous IMO.

I have never known of one even close to George Carlin, contemporary or otherwise. RIP George!
