My favorites would be Amethyst, Sapphire (my birthstone), Emerald, Turquoise, and Lapis (with lots of pyrite!)
I like cool tones!

I love Peridot. However, I'd love to find a sparkly faceted Fire Opal. That brilliant orange with tints of pinks beaming through as the light moves around it. EDITED: What I actually was thinking of is PADPARADSCHA SAPPHIRE. Take a look. It's beautiful. Wish we could have a created version. Love that color changing type of stone.
