I was only on there to see pics of my grandkids.  I left FB because of the obviously biased news feed.  Plus, I do not know how Zuckerberg sleeps at night knowing that his invention allows kids to bully without any consequences.  Or as my 22-year-old says,  Mom, FB is so yesterday.

No one thinks QVC doesn't share information.  Our nics are attached to our accounts and for a long time the forums and QVC.com were not secure.

What really gets me is have you ever just typed in your name and even maiden name etc in a search engine? You will see your address, age,a map of how to get to your place! Really its not right that any of this is online!

Anything you put out there can be used, hacked, read by your boss, etc. including emails, bank records, medical records, games, texts, apps.  This is what should have been expected.  Personal info should never be posted anywhere.

Facebook will be sending letters to those who were affected by the Cambridge Analytica theft and illegal use of your info.  The number has now been reported to be 87,000,000 instead of 50,000,000!

I'm not on any social things either. Always thought something like this would come back to bite us in the caboose--and I would be  so infuriated to learn my info had helped with the sad state of the political results---would rather have a root canal with no numbing!!!

I only have a Facebook account in order to communicate with my neighbors (part of a community out in the country where we're separated by 5 acre plots).  I hardly use it at all, but my personal info was given in order to get an account.  That info can be mined.  So can the info QVC has (including Credit Card).. so does eBay, or my Paypal account.  As far as only Social Medias being compromised.... any site you have an account can be "scraped".  We just have to have Faith that those we trust are up to the task of keeping our information safe.

Facebook mines information but the forums here do too. There are posters here that share almost everything but their Social Security number.

I am on Facebook, but I refused to list a phone number or hometown (not that people can find it anyway, and I only post non personal posts, National days of the week, never personal pictures, and I refuse any friendship requests of people I do not know, and only give access to my posts to the 2 friends that I have in my life.  And unless someone wants to know which day of the week it is, and recipes, they are going to be quite bored of my posts!

And I would like to add Iused my maiden name with my last name listed first, so unless someone has known me my whole life, good luck finding any information on me on Facebook!

Very true, @Trinity11.  Some posters give ridiculous amounts of personal info.  And a few actually post "I just asked the vendor a question on FB about this topic or this TSV" which is not very smart to say the least, stuff like that is super easy to find.
