@rms1954 - I get the friends suggestions/people you may know all the time.  Sometimes I scroll through them, other times I just ignore them. No big deal.

@Icegoddess  I will have to check my settings too.  I have made one post on FC in the entire time I have had an account, and get strange requests too.

I have about 20 friends and am on just to see pics that get posted from my family (since they use FC all the time), and I just delete them, but it would be nice to be able to not have to do that.

@CAcableGirl2 my husband has an account and has never posted anythiing.  He played a game for awhile until he found out the game was sending posts out to his friends requesting help.  I know he doesn't know anything about setting privacy settings or anythiing, but he says he doesn't get all that stuff.  He hasn't accepted a friend request in over 2 years and he certainly doesn't go looking for people to request to be friends.  He mostly just follows a couple of boat groups in the area where he keeps his boat.  He only accesses FB on his iPad.

I get the friend suggestions as well.  If I add a friend, other suggestions pour in.  The suggestions must be their friends.

Years ago I was on FB for about a week.  I got so many of those friend things from people I had never heard of just because of a location or someone I did know.  I closed that mess out quick and have never regretted not being on facebook.

Please look at the post from @Caffeina .  You can turn off those notifications very simply through settings.

Just a few minutes ago a few came up on my phone and next to it was  "hide" so I clicked on it and they went away. Have to check my computer and see if the "hide" is there also.
