Facebook is what you (generic meaning) make of it.
There is no rule that one must post every day, or what they are doing, or eating, or put "personal information" out there.
Take me for example.
I don't post pictures of every meal that I have.
I don't post where I am every moment of the day.
I don't post what it is that I am doing every hour of the day.
Hell, there are days where I don't post anything at all!
It can be done !
Trust me!
If I can do it, then anybody can do it.
I mostly use it to keep in touch with high school friends, read articles, "Like" my favorite tv shows, keep in touch with family members.
Facebook isn't supposed to stress one out.
It's supposed to be relaxing and fun.
So, chill.
Relax.
Don't stress and worry about if people respond or not.
Just sit back and enjoy.
This is perfectly said!! :-)

i use “messenger” for this. (It is more private, IMO)
one contact or two have posted to my timeline....and that was ok.
Hi Loves,
This is an excellent way to approach the thought of posting on someone else's page. I should have thought of it!
I've a first cousin who posts religeous stuff all the time on my page and it make me crazy, know that it's a total turn-off for many friends to view her stuff. After a huge hint, she no longer does that.
PM'ing it a great way to accomplishing a "post," without really posting on the friend/relative/colleague's FB page. We should all take notice of this suggestion.
You can also change your settings so no one else can post on your page. Lots of people who use Facebook don't realize how much control they have. (I don't mean you! You may very well know all this - and more!) :-)

I have a couple friends that would post super religious and or very nasty political posts. I didn't want to de friend them so I marked that all their posts should be hidden and I would not see them. That way I didn't hurt their feelings. Ha.

Many of us do this. You can’t always unfriend a family member, or someone you really like a lot except for their views.
As has been said, people on FB don’t always understand how many ways they can customize their experience.

The religious/political stuff I usually block so I don’t see it.
However, we do have family that are very religious, and now I have to wonder how much of what I post might not sit well with them! Oh, dear!
