Re: FURNACE SETTINGS WHEN YOU GO OUT

We turn our Nest thermostat down to 63 overnight when sleeping. Not over 68 during the day. But turn it completely off?? Never, it wastes so much energy/fuesl bringing it up to temperature again.

I normally just leave the thermostat where it's set if I'm only going to be gone less than a day.  I constantly run hot 🥵 so I like cooler temps than anyone else in the house...it drives them crazy! I like to keep it set around 68 at all times. Honestly, even if it drops down below that it's fine by me.

It's funny how much our temperature preferences vary, isn't it?

We went to visit with in-laws yesterday, soon to be 94 and 98.  They had the thermostats set at 75.

It's set that high because my father-in-law is always cold but she had the sliding door and bedroom window cracked.

My husband tried to tell them to turn it down it's too hot but no, no the maintenance man said to leave it alone.

My husband retired after 45 years in the HVAC business but what does he know.

I felt like we were being cooked.
