I use Warby Parker.   They have stores is major cities but you can order them online.   You go to their website and pick out 5 frames and they mail them to you to try on.   You can do that as many times as you want but I can't imagine that one of the first 5 wouldn't work.  Regular RX lenses with frame cost $95.00.   They have a great selection of frames.  They do sunglasses.   They do progressive lenses.  Progressives cost $295.00 including frame.

Check them out.

We've been getting our eye exams and eyeglasses at Costco for years.

Re: Eyeglasses...

[ Edited ]

My mother had a very complex prescription...several places just didn’t do her glasses correctly....the perfect pair we finally got at the Walmart optical store at the front of our local Walmart. Amazing,
DH has bought two pair at Costco: he also uses the doctor there. He has been pleased with the quality and the price.
I had my neuroopthalmologist recommend the optician in his own office....they were very expensive and I couldn’t even see out of the glasses they did for me! Most places use digital measurements and tech for doing lenses now....so leave no stone unturned...check out WM, Target, JCP, and other places. Pearle was a rip-off and low quality in my experience.

We took our prescriptions to Costco.

Single vision scratch resistent lenses are $65.  Frames start at $49.99.

The only thing I didn't like was that the optician didn't help with frame size, i.e. too big or too small for your face.

@Bridgegal  My son has been recommending Warby Parker to me,  but he doesn’t need progressives like me. Did you go to a WP store, or order online?  I really like to try on a lot of frames in person. The store is across town, but if I could save money it would be worth the drive.

Costco also has sales on their frames frequently when you buy two pair

@CelticCrafter   Not true at my Costco. The sales person helped me pick out frames that fit my face. She did not rush me and was honest about what looked good on me.

I got my last pair of glasses at Walmart.  I found a pair that I really like and got them at a reasonable price.
