It’s actually beautiful though maybe menacing. It’s cool. Thanks for that. I never saw one in person or otherwise.

Re: Ever See a Tumbleweed?

[ Edited ]

Thanks for sharing this @Kachina624 and all who posted pictures. It brought back a fond memory. LOL

Years ago we arrived at the Denver International Airport midday headed to Colorado Springs via rental car. As soon as we left the enclosed rental parking area, we were inundated with tumbleweeds blowing for miles and miles all around us.

What a scene! A bit nightmarish for a couple of coastal folks. Cheers!

@Bonkers1.  When I posted the annual tumbleweed snowman at Christmas,  several people said they'd never seen one and asked if I'd post a close up.  I had to wait until a specimen arrived at my door.

Looking at those pictures from @just bee, I was thinking tumbleweeds look like the Western version of ice shoves on the Great Lakes.

Yes and I was shocked at how LARGE they can be. Living in Arizona opened my eyes to the beauty and not so beautiful aspects of the desert.

I've never seen a tumbleweed for real...had no idea they have thorns!
