Have you ever seen a 2 tone squirrel? I have one in my yard (maybe more than one) black from the top of his ears/head to about half way down his body and then the rest of him including tail is red. I didn't think squirrels would cross mate like that.

we only have ground squirrels here and in some areas of town, red squirrels.........I admit I don't know much about squirrels but the ones you have sound cool..........................raven

We had black squirrels in our back yard a few years running. Now they're grey. Love to watch them on the bird feeders and bird baths.
