Anna Quindlen is one of my very favorite authors. The first book I read of hers is Black and Blue, about a woman who was abused by her husband. I could not put the book down.

I have not read Still Life with Breadcrumbs yet so I can't say if I like it, but the only book of hers that I really hated was Rise and Shine. One of the characters reminded me so much of a typical Danielle Steel character, and she needed to be slapped. Other than that one, they've all been wonderful.

I never read a Kate Atkinson book; for some reason they didn't sound like books I'd enjoy reading.
