Re: Emotional Support Service Dogs???

If you google fake service dogs there are many articles about this - some by major news sources. Basically they say it is very difficult to police this even though it is against a federal law to misrepresent your dog as a service dog . Basically, a real service dog does not require any id and if , when questioned, someone produces an id card - they are the fakes.

As I had previously mentioned - I know some people who do this and they all have pink vests so I think the PINK vest may be the give away on this.

I think I'll go home and slap a pink vest on my Lab and take him to Walmart with me. Sometimes I need emotional support when I'm finished there.

I would add Costco to that, too!

Hi PD,

I am not understanding your question. What exactly does "doing this" mean?

They're doing it so they can take their dogs into inappropriate places like restaurants and grocery stores.

Hi kachina624

Thanks for the explanation. While I know many of us see our furry ones as part of our family I don't think much of people that use something like this so their furry ones can accompany them everywhere they go.

Many people have to rely on their canine friends to do certain things for them to fully function on their own. Others that pretend their canine is one of these highly trained "support dogs" does not sit well with me. Unless a person has permission to bring a canine or other animal into a public facility that is not a registered "service dog" I think they should adjust their thinking cap a bit as this is a disservice to those that depend on these dogs to do certain things for them.

Thanks again, I just didn't get it. =^..^= =^..^=

Did you see today's news about the Walmart shopper who shot himself in the leg?

Not a bad wound, but some owie. He reached into his pants pocket to pay and set it off. It hit one thing and ricocheted.

Just dumb luck he didn't hurt someone.

Wow, no I hadn't heard that! Dumb is definitely the operative word!

Re: Emotional Support Service Dogs???

Why are we talking about a Wal-Mart shopper who shot himself ? What does that have to do with support dogs?
