I've gotten TONS of really nice stuff, sometimes unusual things not seen every day where I live, over the decades of shopping I've done on the Q.

Was all of it the "best" lowest price?

Probably not.

BUT...

when I think of the gas I've saved, the wear and tear on my car, the TIME while I was working and didn't have to muck around stores on  my valuable weekend time, the name brand stuff I bought that I didn't waste time shopping for....

I think I got my money's worth.

Some things I bought that people have told me are pretty, they liked a lot, where did I find it...

Royal Palace Rugs...wear like iron, pretty.

German Cuckoo Clocks.....remember them?

Northern Nights Down ANYTHING...all quality, nice stuff....

Gemstone jewelry...REALLY pretty, nice items...

Beekman products ( Recently tried and like)...

Le Creuset ( never heard of them before QVC, now I buy from Q and other vendors...

Some wood furniture I can't recall the vendor's name ...a jewelry armoire and a hope chest...still have them and really like them. Also rocking chairs he came out with.

Earlier Temptations items...still have some I use as decorative things or flower pots ( bowls etc that cracked or crazed...I used them for flower pots and EVERYONE asks where I got such pretty pots...>!!! And I use the large Lid Its as flower pot moats for the stuff I winter over in the house!!!

I'm sure there's more, but those are the things I can name off the top of my head.

A lot of items I bought because before I retired, I worked LONG days, with a lot of driving, and working outdoors in cold winter weather,  and I liked that QVC delivered right to the door when I was too whipped to shop!!!!

Remember Gateway computers?!?!??!?

Yes I remember Gateway I have one and it's still going .....

Re: Embarrassed ?

[ Edited ]

Not embarrassed but I get annoyed with one of my girlfriends. She will ask me where I picked something up or purchased and then get's very condescending/hoity toity whenever I mentioned the Q or HSN.

I've been shopping QVC since 1990 and used to be embarrassed to admit it after getting some strange reactions. I've gotten past that and gladly tell anyone who asks about where I purchased something.

I recently met a lady through a group that told me she shops there and we have fun comparing notes. My best friend also shops QVC. She recently returned from Paris and it's only 5 star hotels/restaurants for her.

Yes, but it depends on who I'm talking to.

My family and a few friends know I like QVC (some of them like it too!), so I tell them if it's something I bought from here.

I don't bother telling aquaintances.

When I worked, it seemed like it kind of had a stigma.  Don't know why!  A couple people mentioned that they shopped occasionally at hsn and they seemed to think that this was a more high class site.  At that time, I thought the Q was far superior and I didn't understand the attitude toward it.  Back then, I often bought fashions from the Q and quite a lot of jewelry which I wore to work and people were often complimenting.  If I did say where I purchased it --- their eyes would get large and I'd get a reaction like --- Oh, really???

I don't see a thing wrong with the shopping here and the prices certainly aren't low!  I have no shame about anything I have bought here.  I haven't shopped at hsn in eons, so I really don't know what they are like these days or what they have.

I'm not embarrassed to shop any place - if I were, I wouldn't do it!

There was a time that if I mentioned that I ordered something from QVC that friends would make fun of me. I'm sure that it wasn't the case, but it seemed that nobody I knew ordered from a shopping channel, so I just stopped saying where I bought something. QVC has come a long way, but I still run into this attitude. Have you ever been embarrassed to admit you shopped at QVC ?

No I tell everybody. Being a stay at home, it's my store.

I only tell people where I purchased an item if they complement it and ask where I purchased the item. No one has ever laughed, if they did it would be demonstrating their rudeness and lack of class.

Gosh @icezeus . I would be annoyed too.  Do you ever shop at thrift stores or consignment stores?  What would she think of that?  I always enjoy finding a bargain at a thrift store.

Yes, there have been several times I was hesitant to say I purchased an item at QVC.

I really don't know why except perhaps it is the fact that none of my friends shop here.
