Aww!😔

I always liked seeing him in everything he did. He was like a comforting presence wasn't he?

Did anyone else experience the movie Up?  I enjoyed it very much; Ed Asner's participation in it gave the movie more dimension and heft, I think.

catter,

Thank you for drawing my attention to the very much alive John Amos.  He was not a member of the central acting troupe, but he was on the show.   I enjoyed him so much in "Good Times."

Mr. Asner impressed me as an intelligent actor with concern for the well-being of others in the industry.

So sad to hear the news. He was a wonderful actor and seemed like a nice man.

I loved him in one of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies, The Christmas Card.

@golding76 , Though not in all the shows, John Amos, who played Gordie is still living. He is 81.

Lisa Gettirsen who played Bess is still around.  One of the best episodes was the one when Lou babysat Bess.

I just saw him on a recent Grace and Frankie.  I have loved him in so many things.  He does seem to be a nice person.  He honored and represented his profession well.

i will have to check out “the gathering”, don’t recall seeing this.   “The Christmas card” is probably my favorite Christmas move EVER.  Loved the whole cast.  I watch it several times each holiday season, and never grow tired of it.

Sad to hear of his passing.

I recorded a show back in APRIL that we just got around to watching yesterday (rainy day) and Ed Asner was in it.

Real quirky show that did political spoofs using muppet-like characters called Let's Be Real. ( I think that was the name of it.)

Ed Asner posed as himself, well, as a really grung-y, unkempt old guy with a few days growth on his face.  He was one of a few that weren't muppets...lol.

His part was kinda funny as they were doing a PSA to get people to get vaccinated and an OJ Simpson muppet was a spokesperson, too, to get vaccinated and Ed was asking questions like 'why does he have more lines than me'.  Well, I guess you'd have to see it for yourself.

Other than MTM, I never really watched him in anything else, movies or TV shows.
