Something New (to me) With Robocalls

Today for the first time I started receiving robocalls with 12 digits showing on the caller ID. No messages left. All were from country code 52 - Mexico.

Anyone else getting these?

Yes, I've been seeing them too. It never ends.

No, I rarely get any robo calls.

Re: Something New (to me) With Robocalls

I get long robotexts five days per week, Monday though Friday.. Similar to your problem, instead of being from a10 digit phone number it's a 9 didit number.  They start off in Spanish and then change to Arabic.  It's maddening.

It doesn't matter that I report them as spam (which I do every time) because each new text is from a different 9 digit number.   My cell phone provider says there's nothing they can do because it not a REAL phone number.  I said to them, If it's not a REAL phone number, how are they texting through  your system?  No help at all. Grrrrr.

@decaf  Have you had them translated? What do they say? Always the same message? So strange!

It is recommended to never open a text from an unknown source.

I can see the first line of the message along with the number without opening the message.

When in doubt, delete.

@PickyPicky3   It is very bizarre. These lengthy messages are different every time.  I never bothered to have them translated

I have Cricket, it's either a sister company of AT&T or they just use the same network.  Not quite sure.  I googled this problem and starting about 2017 (?), some ATT cell phone customers were posting online about having the same problem, they also said ATT refused to help. The 9 digit number always starts with 1-410 and they go in sequence, the only difference is the last digit.  You can't block them.

I did put in a written complaint with the FCC, about last spring, and never heard back from them.  I think that's business as usual for them.

I stopped opening them a long time ago. I delete them.  Unfortunately that hasn't stopped them or solved the issue.

@decaf  Your texts remind me of the old days of shortwave radio where there were stations broadcasting nothing but a woman reading sequences of numbers.

Maybe you should forward them to the FBI.

@PickyPicky3  Thank you, I hadn't thought about that but maybe I should.
