Do you know yet if your church will be having Easter Sunday services? Easter is April 12 and from what I have heard on the news, it seems all of the restrictions here on social distancing and gathering in large groups will still be in force then. We did not have services last week but have heard nothing yet about Easter. Easter Sunday has always been a very special holiday for our family. Big family dinner, Easter baskets for the little ones, etc. I can't imagine not getting dressed up and attending church.

Since Easter Sunday Is about a month away, I think it is too soon to know for sure what things will be like by then.

We will have wait and see.

I don't know, our church has cancelled services for the next 2 weeks, then they will re evaluate the situation. I can't imagine not being able to go to church on Easter Sunday either, but I'm gonna do whatever we are told to do at that time. We may all be sheltering in place by then, honestly.

lovesrecess,

I fully understand your sentiments and the innocent, hopeful side of me yearns for life as it has always been and a normal Easter (Passover).

Somehow, with all the threat to life and unknown factors connected to this threat, I strongly suspect Easter will not be celebrated this year in a traditional manner.  It would be nice to be wrong on this.

No doubt, the clergy are hopeful and are praying for a quick end to this mysterious terror that we are dealing with, but there is not much time.

It would be an Easter (and Passover) miracle if the threat quickly subsides and we can return to a nomal life, the way it was before this pestilence arrived.

When I get down about this, I try to remember those who lived through wars or other devastating diseases with mass casualties, and holidays came and went without the usual festivities.  We must all try to be strong and resilient.

No matter what, I am certain services will be conducted, even if congregants are not allowed to be present.  For those with places of worship with live streaming, they might participate in the service online.

It's a whole new world - and I don't like it one bit!

I think more churches will broadcast over internet.   I can't imagine parents wanting to expose their children to virus.  Most parent bring kids.  That nursery and church pre-K. Is a festering cave of germs... that I can attest to.  Whatever the edict it will work out.  I am sure of it

I doubt there will be Easter services.  I read churches here are having mass online.

The Bishop cancelled Masses in the Diocese of Las Vegas 2 weeks ago, but left open the chance for Easter services.  Now the Governor has closed all non-essential services for 30 days, so that tells me there will be no Mass on Easter Sunday.

We will be doing Easter week services online. We will have a Resurrection Service in the sanctuary together in June (we hope!) Smiley Happy

Although online services are not what we would want, I rejoice that we at least have that way (among others) of observing this all-important holiday.  Am hoping that as many other congregations as possible can do this.

If your own congregation can't accomodate live streaming, there will be numerous ones online that can be accessed. Again, not ideal, but welcome.
