I've used PayPal for at least twelve years and have never had an issue. I don't think I'd feel comfortable giving a seller my card number.

I sell on eBay, have for years, and have never had anyone give me a cc number. In the past, I've received checks and money orders, but now, buyers only use PayPal. It's safer for the buyer and the seller.

I would never not use PayPal on eBay.

I not only use Paypal on eBay, I use everywhere I can. I'd much rather have my credit card listed in one rather than multiple places. Paypal saved my hide last year when I made a purchase from a scammer in Hong Kong. They got my money back for me. I've used it for about 10 years with no problems.

PayPal is the only way to go, most sellers only take PP. Works for me!! My ebay PP payments are deducted right from my checking acct.

as for security, can anyone help me with this? Yesterday got a pkg. Had had emails saying Amazon pkg. was delivered. (could NOT find pkg. I'd ordered on Amazon on line). Pkg. came, with Amazon Prime tape on it. It was actually from an ebay seller. Has this happened to anyone else? just wondering. don''t want them to get in trouble,,,,just doesn't 'mesh'.

I always use Paypal as well. I started after a seller sent my daughter an item that looked nothing like what the seller was selling. I had used my debit card to pay for the order. I tried to resolve the situation with the seller first. They refused to even respond to my e-mails. I finally filed an item not as described complaint with an eBay. I eventually got my money back but not without one heck of a fight with the seller.

I've only purchased a few things from Amazon, but I have noticed when I'm looking for a particular product, that they are available from many different sellers, including eBay sellers. If you buy it through Amazon, you're not necessarily buying it FROM them.

As far as PayPal, I would much rather use that whenever it is available, even from sellers other than on eBay... that way, I don't have to give my credit card information to anyone else. I don't want to give that info to anyone unless I have no other choice.

thanks, Kitty. I seldom buy from Amazon and don't know my way around there, so wasn't sure if somehow I got inducted to their Prime. All is well tho. thanks for your reply.

I agree with the others -- PayPal is the way to go, in my opinion. Our credit cards do offer protection in case of problems, but PayPal acts as a buffer, doesn't give a stranger our card info, and is another layer of protection if a problem crops up. I've purchased on eBay using PayPal for over 10 years and I'm a very happy camper.

btw: PayPal and eBay announced last year that they were splitting into 2 separate companies... not sure if that has taken effect yet, though.
