Dyson is voluntarily recalling all AM04 and AM05 heaters. Of a million sold worldwide, Dyson knows of 82 machines that have short-circuited, including four reports of heaters with burned and melted internal parts. There have been no instances of of injury or property damage but safety is Dyson's priority. Therefore, it is recalling all machines and implementing an engineering fix in each one.
Visit dysonrecall.com to register your Dyson heater for the fix.

Thank you for this important alert! I don't have a Dyson, but I'll ask around, just in case someone I know does have one.

The Dyson heater/fan that we bought at Costco was recalled. It was picked up at my home and repackaged by UPS, repaired, and returned to my home at no cost to me. And it is now quieter than it was before the repair.

Good to know. I just wonder about these units being sold by Qvc; if they have been re-engineered. See 2nd link above.

It's shocking really that Qvc is selling these as their TSV while it is listed on their website as a recall!

Found, I think it's for models manufactured after April 1.

I think after you insert the serial number into their website they will let you know.

Yes, this is what I did to start the repair process.

Yikes. Thanks for sharing this, found. No matter which serial numbers it applies to, this is an important notice in my opinion. Maybe a thread in a forum that appears in the listing when posters select "View All Categories" would be a good idea, too.

My husband said all space heaters, even Dyson, can be dangerous and should never be used while asleep. He said that when he was living in Denver he was awakened to the sound of popping and when he opened his eyes saw it smoke and begin to flame. He said he unplugged it and threw it out the backdoor onto the snow. Lots of snow at the time hence his need for a space heater. From that time on he uses lots of blankets while asleep and space heaters only when they can be monitored and then unplugged when no longer needed. His had a thermostat too.
