Re: Dressing Your Age. Whaaaa?

I just keep trying to look cute for what ever age I am at, playing up the positive and playing down the negative. DH always tells me " sweetheart you look pretty and I look dumpy " LOL

What is this meme about Walmart people and how poorly they are dressed?

I think I've been in one maybe once in my life, but I find the bashing very disturbing. I know that all sorts of people shop there, but in general, it is not the rich and famous. So the scorn and demeaning of these shoppers just strikes me as mean-spirited.

I could give a hoot what others think about my wardrobe.  My husband always tells me I look nice and that's all that matters to me.

I'll be honest; I sometimes wonder if what I want to wear is too young for me. The motto: if you wore it when it first came out, you're too old to wear it the next time it came out is something I keep in mind.

Being honest again: some women, IMHO, look ridiculous wearing clothes that are targeted to teens/young 20s'. To me, they look desperate in the attempt to recapture being that age again. I think of a young girl trying to dress and look older and how sad that looks as well.

It looks like I'm in the minority because I believe there is such a thing as age appropriate dressing. My DH's older sister wore a Christmas sweater and striped leg warmers to our Christmas gathering.  The sweater was worn as a mini- dress and would have been adorable on her granddaughter.

I am a conservative dresser because that is what I like and what is comfortable.

What anyone says or thinks about that goes in my mental "Who Cares?" file.

As I get older, that file gets thicker and thicker!

This reminded me of Jill saying the one inch hoop earrings are something your grandma might chose when there's two sizes in jewelry shows! I was about to buy the one inch once, until she put iit that way!

Hahahaha!! This reminds me of my hoops. I START with a 2 inch. Every time my sister sees me in hoops she says "you know what they say, the bigger the hoop, the bigger the ho". My husband says you know it, that is why I picked her. Smiley Tongue
