From what I can tell, the dress code on my street is Green Bay Packer shirts and jeans. Maybe that is why our property values have gone up?

I don't care what the hosts wear. I just want them to do their job. Show me the goods they sell and explain what it is I'm buying.

Just got a message from Lord and Taylor, they are closing stores.

Unfortunately the last 19 Lord & Taylor stores closed in Feb 2021. The one in Scarsdale NY was 74 years old and my all time favorite store.

The name was sold for use as a website now and it's nothing like the actual L&T.

I would like to see hosts and models wearing clothing that fits. So many of the jackets and cardigans look at least one size too small...when the buttons won't meet in the front...go up a size. DS worked at Gap during summers from college and all sales associates were required to wear Gap clothing. They could wear any of it but they had to purchase it ( at a discount) . DS said she was asked all the time where the pants or top she was wearing was located in the store; she would take them right to the display iand most of the time they would buy it. I do wonder why Q doesn't think they might have the same benefit if the hosts wore Q's clothing and put the info on the screen.

@coffee drinker In the corporate world dress codes are great. Other than looking clean and neat not sure how more "dressed up" they need. Obviously they want them to look presentable but you also don't want to detract from the items they are selling.

As far as wearing Q clothes and posting it on the screen, if I was a vendor I wouldn't want anything to distract from my product. I understand many see hosts in a shirt, pants, dress etc they like and are interested but I would think that might interfere with what the vendor is trying to sell. Maybe have a category on their website "What the host was wearing" and the hosts could put what they wore. Or at the end of the show post what the host was wearing, but the vendor has that time slot for their items. Basically the vendor would be sharing selling time with all the other vendors the host(s) were wearing, from shoes, to shirts, pants, do you stop there or do we need to list their jewelry as well? It becomes a slippery slope of how much effort and what interests the viewers how much you post. And then there would be that one person who would complain they didn't list what those cute "socks" someone wore were.

I realize they might get added sales from this, but would it be enough to off set the price and time needed to post all that info?

@coffee drinker - I think it's appropriate when the hosts wear Q clothing. I notice more when hosts have hair hanging in their eyes - or the appearance of unwashed, unbrushed hair.

Do any of you think QVC should have a dress code. Even a small code. There's one host who is in jeans all the time. Really, I've never seen anything else on this host. Nope, it's not 1950 anymore. Society changed. The world changed.

I had to wear suits for decades and hated being so stuffy all the time. I'm glad dress codes have relaxed.

The only thing that remains the same is change -- everything changes. We can whine and complain or learn to go with it and be happy.
