I turned on QVC and saw a host wearing what appeared to be "old" washed out jeans. The host she was appearing with was wearing either black jeans or pants and a nice top. What a difference. At least the host with the the old looking jeans had her hair washed, she usually looks like she hasn't bathed in days. No, they were not selling clothes.

I've never seen a host inappropriately dressed.  This is a shopping channel, not a corporate environment.

I don't care what they wear.  I stopped watching because of how they behave.

As fall clothing arrives it will be accompanied by an avalanche of denim between back to school and popular choice.

@coffee drinker  I gather the hosts are informed as to what to wear based on the show, the audience they are catering to and the items being sold at that time. It's all Marketing and they do their research meaning, nothing is left to chance.

If they were featuring elegant wear (which they don't) or an evening of fine jewelry (which I haven't seen in at least a decade), it would be more fitting to have on something OTHER than jeans and a sweater/sweatshirt. ShopHQ does that for their Waterford shows, Jewelry from Italy, etc. but QVC.....not so much now because everything is casual/rolled out of bed fashion.

The hosts are there to sell, sell, sell. I worked in an R and D lab and we had a dress code.

Hubbs was interviewed for a job and told he would have to get rid of his beard. He chose not to and about 4 weeks later he was called w/the job offer.

So in answer to your ? I don't think it is necessary for the Q to have a serious DC.

There is a pharmacy in our little town that has a tech w/blue hair. I would think that is a DC violation, but there are lot of shortages in Pharmacies.

But actually, how would the color of her hair affect her ability to dispense medications?  I'd much rather look at blue hair than a nose ring.  Anything in the nose just creeps me out.

I won't blast you, but gently I disagree.  Probably because I live in jeans!  They don't ever offend me.  Lots of people just have a "jeans" lifestyle, and that host can connect better with them.  Probably wouldn't do for a jewelry show, I realize.

Because it's summer, I don't see people out and about in jeans. I never see people in pajamas and seldom see anyone looking unkept or in too tight, too small clothing.
