Because there has been abuse in her family...he sister I believe had acid thrown in her face and was abused for years.

True but the attack was by a stranger. Her sister was on his show way back when his show was new.

As far as Robin, if she's a champion for ending domestic abuse, the rest is just nit-picking at her. I give her a lot of credit for not just sitting back and enjoying the money he earns.

She's giving back. That's all that matters.

Um, no, not really.

She is pulling in a salary as head of a foundation.

They get kind hearted people to buy their products, they set aside a portion to give to their charity (a tax deduction for them) - then she pulls in another salary as the CEO of the foundation.

It's a scam. It's perfectly legal - a loophole for those brazen enough to use it.

Thanks I knew there was a story with her sister...TY for the back ground info. I watch Dr. Phils show and have enjoyed many. He is a talk show like all the others...they are around to entertain and maybe learn a few things along the way. Don't like it...don't watch.

I applaud Robin for being an outspoken advocate for abused women.

We need more women to speak out, degree or no degree! Experience is a good teacher sometimes.

I don't know Dr. Phil's primary motivation and I don't know how anyone here can know it, either. But he does have education and degrees in his field. He's not just some idiot with a show.

Agree. Nobody really knows all the background involved with these programs. And the curriculum for schools regarding domestic violence is free.

I've stopped watching Dr. Phil a long time ago, but this nit-picking and calling these programs "scams" - it's all about that old sour grapes about the rich not really having a heart and just doing it for tax purposes.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

As though anybody here with that much money would not use tax credits. lol

I agree!!

I always liked that he helps people get into the best rehab programs available. I wonder if he pays for it or the show does.

I agree. At least she is doing something and any help is better than no help.

While Dr. Phil has done a lot of good in trying to help individuals and families through the years, I rarely watch him any more as I feel his shows have gotten a bit crusty. He obviously has taken his show to ensure livelihoods for his entire family - that can be good that can be bad, but just do not think they should be promoted on the Dr. Phil Show. Doesn't Robin also have a new line of cosmetics? Not sure but thought I had seen that on the show also. Could be wrong however. I concur that it is great to have one and all concerned and involved in domestic abuse - of any nature.

His show is an occasional guilty pleasure of mine. But then again, I admit (hanging my head) to watching The Steve Wilkos show occasionally as well as RHONJ and Mob Wives. Hey....whatever floats your boat!

He does promote her skin care line on his show and proceeds from it also go to her charity. It's sold on HSN.

I truly enjoy watching most of his shows, when I remember to tune in. Especially the shows focusing on problems with 'entitled' teen girls, and their moms/dads. It's a very common problem, and Dr. Phil encourages those families to get counseling, etc. to 'break' the sometimes destructive pattern.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
