Your right, it IS a public health issue...BUT its also a MEDIA ISSUE as well...as they spread panic and fear instead of looking at it realistically and focusing on common sense ....like washing hands, and those with compromised immune systems be cautious not just for Corona but the regular flu which is still out there...But the media keeps RAMPING IT UP!!!
Someone even posted how a news broadcast admitted not many stories out there except for politics so they are pushing the virus story.... How irresponsible is that!! ![]()

This is why I get all of my news from the QVC Forums. To ascertain The Truth from trusted sources.

Maybe try your local Cool Jazz DJ. Apparently we're supposed to listen to them for medical advice now.

I get what you're saying but he's spreading the
negative & false rhetoric that we've been hearing
over & over & over & over again of "media is fake news".
If the pendulum swings to the 'Hysteria' side,
it will swing back to the 'Fake News' side.
Neither are good.
I get my news from the middle.
ETA: In reality, there are few sites/channels who are 'fake news'.
The term 'fake news' is just a fancy way of gaslighting the public.

I disagree.. The media is publicizing this because the inormation coming from the government was not always correct. I read the CDC and WHO information from their websites.

I don't know about "Dr. Drew", but I don't see the media as those spreading false information and whipping the populace into a frenzy. Much of the populace seems ready to go into a frenzy at the slightest provocation and then blame the messenger for their constant high alert and heightened sensitivity.
I see the media as reporting pertinent news, pertinent to our lives as a whole. If it gets repetitive to anyone maybe that's because they watch TV for much of the day. Many people don't and need to get the news in an hour or so, fit into the rest of their day.

I think you hit the nail on the head! The people who keep complaining about the news harping on topics -- are watching the news all day long. Of course it sounds repetitive if you leave it on as they cycle through the key items for people who just tuned in.

Not true. I don't watch the news all day long. I generally turn it on while I'm getting ready for work in the morning. I might watch a little of our local news at 6.
But lately, every single morning the first thing I hear when GMA comes on is about the coronavirus and the death toll from it and the new outbreaks. It's enough to alarm many people. And then half of what they are scrolling across the bottom of the screen is about the coronavirus.

Yes. He also has political aspirations.
Well knock me over with a feather. 🙄
Another "expert" like the Urologist quoted earlier.
