Oh that's disgusting!
I could have been happy with just the cute Cootie thing...not the worms. EEEWWW!!

I have some garnet earrings and they were mined by ants in Arizona. Anthill garnet, very beautiful red stones. I wonder how big those ants are?

We had a friend from California here when we had one die on our patio, releasing all the horsehair worms. He just stood there, his cigarette hanging from his lip.
It was a brief visit.

WOW y'all do have a lot of creepy critters in Arizona...things I never heard of.....
A couple good things about those Wolf Spiders .....the wolf spider eats those big flying roaches. and very dangerous and poisionous recluse spiders.....things I HATE worst of all.
New Mexico, not Arizona.
But you're right, Arizona has some great bugs, too. We lived there when I was ten and I had the opportunity to see all the bugs I'd only read about in books.
That was mom's introduction to an Arizona ant.
Lemme tell ya about the grasshoppers and cicadas...
Sorry ....thanks for the correction to NM....Ill correct my original post....
LOL.....Love those old sci fi movies with the giant insects...but not too far off were they...at least in our minds...😉
