Re: Down Time With David - Why?

I haven't seen either but it sounds like the format just wouldn't work right for what they want him to sell. If he's doing kitchen stuff and what not it makes no sense. Sounds like Shawn's stuff makes more sense for where she is. He's probably like why on earth am I talking about Lock n Lock in my dressing room.

Funny how some people seem to be able to get inside DV's head and know what he's thinking.  I don't see that at all when watching him as he still acts happy and engaging to me. And he's said emphatically he's NOT retiring anytime soon. Think some are seeing what they want to see.

@Imaoldhippie  -  How do you know David is ready for retirement?  If he was ready, I'm sure he would do it.

He's probably the highest paid host and is not ready to throw the towel in yet.

@San Antonio Gal ...........I dont know for a fact, but that is just my opinion.  Basically I said he choses not to, agree he will do it whenever he is ready.

Q comes up with the strangest marketing ideas. They focus on the wrong ideas so I'm not surprised their finances are in the toilet.

I come here to shop. I have zero interest when they try to make hosts all homey and family-like. They aren't family, friends or acquantances and never will be. I'm not interested in their personal lives. I have no desire to see their dressing rooms or homes.

If you like it, go for it. I'll just pass.

I've never been a David fan so I don't care. I can't imagine wasting an hour watching David

I am really not into cooking or having much interest in my kitchen.  So I don't watch David very often.  But he seems boring as heck on his shows.  I don't know how old he is, but it is clear to me that he has lost interest in his job.  There just does not seem to be much excitement there, and I can't blame him.  He is very good at repeating colors and quantities left though, lol.

I agree with you about any excitement coming from him. I think he is just biding his time until he retires.

And what more excitement do you expect him to express while selling Lock 'n Lock containers or an apron?  He looks totally normal and engaging with the vendors and what they're selling to me. I mean he does the "happy dance" and people complain about that so danged if he does!   smh

Re: Down Time With David - Why?

I've never seen these shows, maybe I'll catch them.

I can see how Shaun's would work, from dressing room because that's where she 'preps' for hosting her shows.

So makeup, skincare, clothes, even things like fabric steamers or whatever else she may use getting ready to go on air--or home.

But David's would seem out of place coming from his dressing room.  Maybe a pantry or small kitchenette would makemore sense?  No vendors needed, minimal camera work or even lighting techs.

Re: Down Time With David - Why?

So is the thinking that they are doing these shows in their dressing rooms as a segue to ditching the studios and selling just on social media?  Running those huge studios with the sets, decorations, lighting, cameras, and personel has to cost a fortune.  That is what makes sense to me - that they are trying this format to see how the sales are.  Can you just picture the models walking in and out of those small spaces, one at a time, LOL?  XS model come in, turn around, walk out.  XL model come in, turn around, walk out.
