Our dog has told me over and over, she does not like to go to B&M stores. She does all her shopping on the internet.
I was in a dressing room at a high end department store. A lady took her Yorkie out of her purse and told him to do poo-poo. The dog did what Mommy said. She used a tissue to pick it up but left it behind.

I'd like to do some shopping with your dog.

I'd rather they bring them into the store than leave the pet in the car
This is a whole nother issue! LOL I cannot understand why people think they need to bring their dogs absolutely everywhere with them and they end up in vehicles.
A few weeks ago, I was at a car show that lasted about 3 hours. Someone had their dog in their car and it was blazing hot outside. He kept the car running with the a/c on and about every 30 minutes he went back to the car to check on the dog. I saw him put a bowl of water in the car and twice he brought the dog out and took it for a small walk. But as I looked at that I couldn't imagine why he thought he should have that dog in the car. Wouldn't that dog have been more comfortable at home?
I think that's terrible. Dogs shouldn't be left in cars, IMO. I always cringe when I see a dog left in a car...

People who drag their dogs to grocery stores and restaurants have no common sense. People are starting to get ridiculous with their pets, equating them to people and children.

I don't see that. And I live in a very dog friendly city.
@QueenDanceALot, I live in an extremely dog-centric little beach town and have a wonderful and beautiful dog myself (see avatar).
I quite frequently see people in my local supermarket with small dogs. They are not leashed but are usually either held, are in they're handbag, or put in the cart. One time I asked the manager about it, and he said that they do ask such people and the answer is that they are for emotional support.

Your dog is beautiful!
Sounds like the dogs in your supermarket aren't causing problems.
As I said, I don't see them a lot in stores even though I live in a very dog friendly place, but the ones I have seen are always well behaved and I've never seen any problems associated with them.
Unlike with some of the people............
