Yes dogs can drive but not very well.
From WSAZ:
WAYNE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Shoppers couldn't believe who was behind the wheel after a car crashed into the Wayne Walmart on Friday.
A witness tells WSAZ she was standing in front of the store when she noticed a car started moving from its parking space at the front of the lot in her direction.
The woman says the car slowly moved straight toward her, and she at first guessed the driver was someone she knew who was messing with her.
That is until she noticed the face of the driver was a dog's.
The woman got out of the way, and the car crashed into the store.
She says a second dog was in the passenger seat, and after the wreck that dog somehow managed to roll the window down.

Those dogs are darn lucky the air bags didn't go off or they'd be goners.
You'd have thought that car would have been a Subaru (if you are familiar with Subaru commercials, you'd know why).

Is the dog's name Toonces?

Sooo, someone not only left 2 dogs in a parked car, but also left it running (keys in the ignition)??

@IamMrsG I don't do that but could for dogs, since I always have a spare set of car keys with me. I could lock the car and leave the air conditioning on for them. Never have though.
@Pearlee Just about everyone has a spare key, but that isn't the purpose of having one. Bad idea!

Well, the dogs have licenses, right?
Maybe they wanted to be like the Barkly's in the Subaru commercials, or maybe they wanted to take the car for a joy ride, and pick up some B's, or maybe they saw "The Secret Life of Pets".
It's only amusing because no one, and no dog got hurt.

I must be an outlier....I cringed when I read this.
So many levels of wrong...only to have it punctuated
by having it be a fluff those-darn-dawgs news story
(insert newscasters guffawing until commercial break).
Yeah, it's all fun & games...until someone gets hurt.
Believe me...the interweb would have a TOTALLY different
spin on this if it was someone else other than a little old lady
and/or a toddler got ran over. Just sayin'.

I have a feeling the news didn't make a big deal out of it because it happened in a very small town. If this were in LA or another big city there'd be h3ll to pay.
