For some unfathomable reason, the members of my family don't think twice about interrupting me, even though they can see I'm engrossed in a book, a movie, an activity, and so on. They just blurt out what's on their minds with no regard for the fact that they're disrupting what I'm trying to do.
And before someone says it, YES! I've asked, begged, and pleaded with them a million times to please not do it, I don't like it, etc. I've started to ignore them, and when I'm done with whatever I was doing, ask--nicely--"What was it you said?" or wanted, etc.
It really bothers me that people can be so inconsiderate and sometimes I want to yell at them, can't you see I'm doing something here? but all it would do is get me riled up and wouldn't have any effect, except for long faces and scowls. So I guess I'll just have to live with it. When it gets really too much for me, I go into another room and close the door.
BTW, I've tried doing the same to them but it doesn't bother them at all.
LOL! I guess we all have our own individual sensitivities.

No it doesn't bother me at all. Funny, because I do this constantly to my hubby who gets irritated at times because I can be somewhat chatty, LOL.......anyway I don't do it on purpose and he knows that. We've been married long enough, I guess he'll just keep putting up with me ![]()

As I do with mine ;-)

It doesn't bother me, either.
If I have something that I want/need to say, that I feel is important, how am I to know how long the other person is going to be engrossed in their book, tv show or whatever?
I'll just say what I need to say.

I've never seen this complaint before.......and I've read a lot of them on here.
You should be happy you 'have a family'.

you could say, Can I interrupt you for a minute or two? That's what bothers me--just blurting it out with no consideration that they're probably breaking my concentration/enjoyment.
Now, if it's to tell me the house is on fire...that's a different consideration entirely! ![]()

You may never have seen this complaint before but I'll bet a lot of people think it.

I prefer to read in a quiet place with no interruptions, usually in a room where others would have to make their presence known before entering .

I've noticed it too lately with those I hang out with. It's as if whatever I'm doing doesn't matter to these rude ones. LOL! I either ignore them until I'm ready to respond, or throw my hand up to stop them in mid sentence. Must be our moods right now.
