I like little touches of animal prints...e.g. a neck scarf worn with a classic style outfit.

ME ME ME !!! I cringe every time I see an animal print in any type of fashion. I am not much for prints anyway, but that is by far the worst one.

BTW, I'm a young girl from the 50s, and I don't remember seeing any animal prints anywhere. We kids certainly didn't wear them and neither did my mom.

I'm probably the same age you are, Ford, and I did see a lot of my mother and her no-account, bar-fly, sleazy friends, hanging out in low-class bars, dressed in cheap, ugly clothes that included a lot of animal prints. Maybe it's my distaste for the way I was raised that makes me detest them so much.

Well my mom was not like that. She was a lady in every way and rarely went out at all. I'm not saying she was perfect, but she was nearly perfect!

I am sorry MrsLorraine, that you had to experience that as a kid. I had the Italian father with the belt though . . . but my mom was my hero.

I was growing up in the 1950's and my Mom was a housewife and how dare you say the Moms were cheesy housewife. My Mom was not only beautiful she was a wonderful wife, an excellent cook, a very classy dresser, excellent Mom, and my Dad was always very proud when he would take her from shopping, to dinner, church or dancing. He always beamed with pride when he would introduce her to people and proudly say " this is my wife" so thank you very much Lorraine she was no cheesy housewife!!!!! You should be ashamed to put that kind of a statement on here about women in the 1950's. Why don't you post a picture of yourself as a wife of the 2000's them we can judge you and your apparel.

I guess the OP needs to read some fashion magazines or supply herself with some books about fashion. Animal prints are now considered "classic" when done in small doses. Of course wearing animal prints head to toe is still considered in poor taste.....think Peg Bundy.

Oh I don't give a rat's rear end about what fashion magazines, etc., are proclaiming what's in" or what's "classic". I really hate them (yes, I do feel strongly--what's wrong with that?) and you won't find me wearing them.

Some of you people are WAY too anxious to be "insulted".

You need to pull that broom out of you no where and ride off on it.
