Is he being relegated to the Kirks' Folly basement of overnight shows now? I know they often have him on early in the morning, but his wonderful products need to be seen in the daylight, not shunted aside to overnights! Yes, I understand it's all about the money, but products were selling out, and he had terrific new ones to offer. I know we've all said here that collectibles aren't selling like they used to, but it seems like such a waste to see this line put to the side like it is now.

That's what DH said. We enjoy his shows even when we don't purchase something. Maybe he is too calm and laid back for ""day-time"".

QVC is being run by some desperate people who don't know much.

Products like his are a dime a dozen in Dollar tree type shops now . Are his products even made by him anymore or are they based on his designs and made in China? Yep, made in China.
I'm surprised they can sell any of his things anymore at any hour.
I don't think QVC is run by desperate people. I think buyers are getting more discerning and watch where their dollars are going. Collectibles aren't high on most peoples list these days even if they have inspirational mumbo-jumbo (Titles like "When You're Focused, Dreams Take Flight" for example) attached to them.
QVC knows what people will buy and presents those items in the prime viewing hours.

I saw people buying up his stuff at Macy's during the holiday season.

Sadly I think what you say is the case here--- I love the idea behind Jim Shore's work and think it might have been nice to have early pieces that weren't from China. I still enjoy his shows anyway.

A few years back during the Christmas season I heard him mention that he was one of the vendors who was close by and could get there in short notice for fill in.
