They look like something some cheesy housewife back in the 1950's would wear. I don't like the very idea of wearing REAL animal prints, and fake are just as bad.
I like some animal prints in small doses, and it works for me while it isn't everybody's cuppa tea.
You know, though, you can say you don't care for something without having to put down all the people who might like it. It happens on threads all the time in Fashion and Beauty. Not necessary imo.
I always wonder what makes these posters believe that their personal taste is the best taste or that their opinion is better than another's.
The OP never said she has the best personal taste or that her opinion is the better one.
She simply stated her opinion. In fact, she asked others what their opinion is.
Personally, I can only take animal prints in very, very small doses. I do not think they look good covering one's entire body.
(See? I just stated my opinion. I never said my taste is better than anyone else's.)
Actually she did. To reiterate, her post stated:
"Does anyone else hate animal prints?
They look like something some cheesy housewife back in the 1950's would wear. I don't like the very idea of wearing REAL animal prints, and fake are just as bad."
Sounds pretty judgmental to me.
Just trying to understand . . . So people who love animal prints will be offended because they feel they are being compared to a 1950's "cheesy housewife" by the OP? I like animal prints and I didn't feel personally insulted for one second, and I'm a fairly sensitive individual. I guess the reference to a 1950's cheesy housewife (whatever that may be) wasn't like telling me I've got taste up my rear if I like animal prints. Even then, I wouldn't feel personally insulted. I dunno.
ETA: I think the problem is this generalized bashing of certain posters who have come to be known as generally off-putting in their demeanor. I'm just not into bullying. If you know that a poster has a certain demeanor, just walk on by. You cannot change their personality by admonishing them on a regular basis, so why do it? If a regular poster posted this identical OP, something tells me they wouldn't be admonished at all.

I guess the OP needs to read some fashion magazines or supply herself with some books about fashion. Animal prints are now considered ""classic"" when done in small doses. Of course wearing animal prints head to toe is still considered in poor taste.....think Peg Bundy.

Oh I don't give a rat's rear end about what fashion magazines, etc., are proclaiming what's in" or what's "classic". I really hate them (yes, I do feel strongly--what's wrong with that?) and you won't find me wearing them.
Some of you people are WAY too anxious to be "insulted".

I am not easily insulted at all and I only care for animal prints in very small doses. Having said that what you said about cheesy 1950's housewives was insulting, you know that and you meant it to be. Don't try to blame those you insulted as being anxious to be insulted. You were anxious to insult. Period.

Judging from this post and your prior ones it is the only conclusion that there could be. That or you are just completely oblivious to or were raised without learning social behavior according to the contemporary conventional norms within a society.

Of course it was meant to insult. Anybody think that ""cheesy housewife back in the 50s"" was meant to be a compliment? Sheesh!
