I got a mosquito bite tonight which made me think how my mother used to put calamine lotion
on my mosquito bites when I was a little girl. I played outside so much in summer that I got lots of mosquito bites and had that awful pink chalky stuff all over me. The lotion definitely helped the itching but I hated the stuff.
Does anyone still use that?
@Pearlee Girl, we have bottles of the clear calamine lotion in both bathrooms and the kitchen. I live in the South and I have a young granddaughter. You can donate blood at a blood drive and will be giving less blood than the mosquitos around here get in one hour. Our bottles are in constant use. I told my granddaughter it was a magic potion. ![]()

Yes but the clear one. I got a touch of poison ivy for the first time ever in my life. The clear Calamine lotion worked like a charm on the itching and I didn't have that ugly peachy/pink all over my skin.
