I've livin here in So CA all my life and that doesn't happen here.
Looks like all people hae to do in a snowstorm is EAT. I notice that many are obese and overweight. Seems many need to curb the eating and look towards staying healthy. .
@Puzzle Piece So where are these obese people you always see? They must be where you live or you would t see them.

Since you lived in Houston at on time, ya know in Texas you'd better take precautions ahead of time because if there is one snowflake or a chance of ice you don't want to be on the roads with a bunch of idiots that can't drive right when its nice and sunny let alone in bad weather ....And also in the grocery store you could face empty shelves if you wait...
I placed my Instacart grocery order early in the week we are expecting a "wintry mix" on Thursday.....

Do the supermarkets place a limit on how much a person can buy? I remember during the pandemic that people were allowed to buy only one container of water, milk, eggs, etc.

Guess those I see are from other states. We have some overweight people but not like I've seen that have come to visit here or those on the news stories.

Where in So Cal do you live, @Puzzle Piece? Having been born and raised in So Cal I have come across many overwieght people who were also born and raised there.

@Wsmom I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. People were conscious of their figures and looks as the movie and television business was prominent there. Gorgeous females and good looking guys came here to have a chance at being discovered. Not just the citizens here but they came from all over the world.
Because of the beach scenes, you wanted to have a flattering figure to be seen in your swimsuit/bikini.

@Carmie Just two of us here and I have a very full freezer and pantry. I rotate pretty well, but Not quite as freezer organized as you are. My big pantry may have some repeats, but like you, not tons of the same item. Besides produce, milk and eggs, ( and occasionally bread), we also could eat for a few months here.
Meats, soups, chili, fish, and all the ingredients to bake, all available.

I'd run out of fresh produce and eggs, but other than that I have everything we need.
Always make sure I have some cooked food frozen..like chicken, meat loaf..you can eat those at room temperature but you can't eat them raw...I alway keep a box of powdered milk also..

Oh, @Puzzle Piece , I totally get that but those are more the people who are moving here from out of state looking for fame, fortune and reality tv. And there are certain areas where for sure the pressure is on to be fit and put together.
I am just saying overall I think the average Joe native Californians are just living their lives and you have some in great shape, some overweight and some obese. Just the generalization that the heavy people are the ones from out of state I think came across wrong.
