Re: Doc who had EBOLA to be released today

Hi Pit,

Have you received any information about the new hemorrhagic gastroenteritis outbreak (not ebola) in Dakkar that WHO is monitoring?

<br /> Sidsmom: Here is what Dr. Graham has to say about that:

Honorary Doctorates, I think.

Yes, honorary only.

Doctor of Divinity. He runs and I believe started Samaritans purse. He is the son of Dr. Billy Graham and that is why he did the editorial.

ETA: Evidently My mistake about the appellation of Dr. I thought he was a Dr. of Divinity. Indeed here are his props:

The eldest son of Billy and Ruth Bell Graham, he serves as President and CEO of Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Under his leadership, Samaritan's Purse has met the needs of poor, sick, and suffering people in more than 100 countries. As an evangelist for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, he has led crusades around the world.

Franklin's were honorary. My grandfather had a Doctor of Divinity from a very well respected university, not an honorary.

I worked with Billy Graham and I remember how much trouble Franklin used to get in, I loved his dad but I am not a fan of Franklin.

Here are references for Franklin's honorary degrees:

I will not hear any disrespect about any of the Grahams. Sorry. Franklin is a tireless worker for the Lord.

And I hope you read the article I posted that was his letter about the Ebola in USA today.

I remember a few years when SP was governor. A native village was suffering and needed fuel and food. They appealed to the state. The governor brought Franklin there to preach. I think they received help from other people's donations.

Good for the doctor to leave the hospital. I would still want him to be watched and monitored for a while. We don't know if the virus would come back in a relapse that would be stronger and more deadly.

You're right. It is only a THEORY that it won't come back. As you can imagine, they haven't tested this theory by infecting survivors with the virus again.

Exactly. He could be like a typhoid Mary with others he does come into contact with. I am not that gullible to just go along with the authorities at all anymore. We have been mislead too many times on too many issues.

No you cannot compare the 2 at all. First of all, ebola is a virus and typhoid is a bacteria. Bacteria and viruses are totally different from each other. They do not act the same at all.

Second of all, if there is no virus in their system.....it is not even plausible that anyone could become infected by someone that doesn't even have the virus. In other words think of it this way. How can someone acquire chickenpox from someone else that doesn't have chickenpox?

And it isn't about believing authorities. It is basic science. It is about knowing about viruses, bacteria, or any other microbe and immunology.

Hi Marp,

I have a couple of emails with this as the subject content, but I haven't had time to open them and read them yet. Too busy getting ready for classes to start.

I will try to get to them though and see what information they have.

Love Roses......I know that you were not comparing Typhoid with Ebola but just stating that he could be like a "typhoid Mary." Wink
