Mom shouldn't have to be in the presence of anyone she is uncomfortable around at her own family gathering. That she would not have the company of her son would be the price for her peace of mind.

I have to admit, I wouldn't want my kid dating her. But then, the parents have to just leave it alone and hope for the best (like she goes away would be good).

This girl always impressed me as somebody to whom if you stood too close you might catch something. Hopefully she's not as skeevy as she is in my head.

The Kennedys themselves do some pretty classless things, including those who were part of Maria's immediate family.

I wonder if Maria banned Arnold or Ted from being around her kids. The banning should not be limited to just Arnold and Ted, by the way.

Maybe it's real, maybe not. But if it is, Removing all the famous names from the equation...if my son was dating Miley, I wouldn't like the situation much at all either I would indeed want my son to focus on his studies, his future and his real friends. But I'd be very careful about NOT saying that to him and I'd be very sweet and pleasant to Miley. And since they are only "dating"; I wouldn't invite her to Christmas dinner because they haven't been dating long enough for that. It has nothing to do with whether I like her not, she's just a girl he's dating and if we're all lucky, the relationship will blow over quickly.
