@qualitygal @Saw Lionel Ritchie (and Earth, Wind, and Fire) in concert in August. He sang "We are the World" and the entire arena joined in. Very moving. He is a great songwriter and entertainer.

For me music I love is never old or tiresome, it lifts my spirits, brings out emotions whether happy or sad, and is filled with so many memories of people and places.
I do remember We Are The World and still enjoy listening to the song. It was a group of great singers who came together for a cause, still filled with meaning.

Amazing piece of music - it showed in 1985 how people of different ethnicities, beliefs and backgrounds could come toghether for a common cause. Inclusivity personified!
Old and tiresome? I think not ! - it delivers an important message for the generations.

This is a great documentary on Netflix. I absolutely loved seeing Huey Lewis in it and in the original song, too. I have an unnatural crush on him.....still....many decades later. LOL

I kind of had a gasp when I saw him again too. I have a CD of his, after all these years. I really liked him too.

I love this song and every year I look for it on youtube. It's like a message to the whole world to "come together"....red, yellow, black, and white". It may be old but it will never be "tiresome" to me . It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

I just watched "The Greatest Night In Pop" on Netflix about the song We Are The World, and I really enjoyed it! Some of the singers were interviewed, and it really was great to hear about how the song came together and all of the artists. It was really enjoyable, and Lionel Ritchie is so easy to listen to!

Loved seeing Cyndi Lauper, she's so much fun and Huey Lewis too,
love him.
I can listen to that song everyday.
