Re: Do you remember Wolfman Jack?

Listened to him on my transistor radio on WKBW if I'm not mistaken in the 60's. Also, remember Jerry Blavat, the geeter with the heater!

All of us kids thought he was so cool; our parents were sure he was leading us down the path of no good!

Yeah me too....transistor and car radio....from XERB the "Mighty 1090" in Rosarito Beach Mexico. He was truly one of a kind.

I remember listening when I was a teen in SoCal in the late 60's & the word was that XERB broadcast  out of Mexico at a very high wattage that was illegal in the US & the signal was powerful enough that most of the country could pick it up, escpecially late at night when he was on.  It may have just been Wolfman lore!  I used to know a guy who was obsessed with Wolfman Jack & in the early 70's went to work for him in some capacity..

Oh, yes....all thru the mid 60's into the early 70's.  I lived in Southeast Georgia but listened to Wolfman Jack on a radio station out of Jacksonville, Florida....the BIG APE!

Oh, boy!  The memories the Wolfman conjures up!

Re: Do you remember Wolfman Jack?

Oh yes, my hubby and I remember him!  We graduated in 1961, were dating in 59,60,61 and would listen to him on the car radio on date nights!  We got him on a station out of Chicago but neither one of us can remember it now.  It's on the tip of my tongue and will probably remember it in the middle of the night Smiley Happy
